A Penobscot Urchin Basket

Excellent condition! Penobscot urchin basket signed by Paula Thorne of Maine! Although the basket is not new, it was made in the early 21st century. Northeastern Woodland Native American curly weave basket trimmed with coastal Maine sweetgrass braided handle.  This black ash and sweetgrass urchin basket with curly weave is a favorite of collectors and art lovers. Dimensions are 4.5″ in diameter (at its widest point) x 4.5″ high, including handle. It is a tightly woven and well-made work of art. This basket was originally purchased from a Maine Penobscot weaver.
