Vintage Bowl 7″ Diameter – Passamaquoddy

$275.00

Traditional bowl in excellent condition! Circa late 1900s Northeastern Woodland Native American woven basket trimmed with turquoise blue weaving strands.  This brown ash and sweetgrass bowl is a favorite of collectors and art lovers alike. The Traditional weave is interspersed with braided sweetgrass on this lovely basket. Dimensions are 7″ in diameter x 4″ high, plus the ring. It is a tightly woven and well-made work of art. This basket is unsigned and weavers did not sign their baskets until well into the late 1900s when they began to identify their work. This basket was originally purchased from a Passamquoddy weaver.

Fancy Bowl baskets were initially used as storage containers as well as for displaying the beauty of their form. This vintage basket is in pristine condition for its age. There are no breaks or missing pieces. This lovely basket is an excellent choice for art collectors or for gift-giving and is sturdy enough to last for many years as an heirloom basket.
